Terrorism, in one form or another has affected all modern nations. terrorism has a large effect on international politics, economies and overall quality of life in those nations. The Russian Federation is specifically concerned with Terrorism due to the several attacks on its soils, primarily by separatists and Islamic extremists. As a result of these attacks, valuable resources and effort has been wasted finding and eliminating these threats. There has been several major events with acts of Terror against Russia that have all been dealt with internally. The majority of these attacks originate from the Caucus mountains region where Chechen rebels have developed into Islamic extremists. Russian security forces are currently in the region combating terrorists.
Russia has aided in international efforts to combat terrorism, specifically with eliminating funding for such groups and cooperating with NATO and US counter terrorism councils and agencies. Russia would like there to be a reduction direct intervention and a shift to aid countries effected by terrorism and limiting the availability of arms and funding to terrorist organizations. However Russia supports any plan to increase cooperation on international responses to terrorist attacks; Both on the prevention and proper response to these attacks.
What has your country done to combat terrorism? (Have they created new laws, organizations, campaigns etc. to deal with terrorism?)
What actions has your country taken on the issue on an international level? Does you country help other countries who are victims on terrorism? If so, how do they?
possibly russia has several counter terrorism agencies including the FSB, SVR and GRU. The FSB and the SVR are remnants of the former soviet KGB while the GRU is attached to the special forces division of the military. The three agencies serve similar functions as the american CIA, FBI, and NSA but differ greatly in their capabilities. Russia is part of the financial action task force that fights financial support of terrorism and russia also cooperates with the EU on terrorism and the G8 Counterterrorism Action Group, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the OSCE; and was an active member of the NATO-Russia Council Counterterrorism Working Group. the US and russia have cooperated and shared information between the CIA and the FBI with the SVR and FSB. http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/170479.pdf
Is you country a member of any international organization and/or coalition currently working to stop terrorism?
not a part of nato
What role would your country like to see the international community take to address the problem of terrorism?

The absence of overt state-mandated Internet filtering in Russia has led some observers to conclude that the Russian Internet represents an open and uncontested space. In fact, the opposite is true. The Russian government actively competes in Russian cyberspace employing second- and third-generation strategies as a means to shape the national information space and promote pro-government political messages and strategies. This approach is consistent with the government’s strategic view of cyberspace that is articulated in strategies such as the doctrine of information security. The DoS attacks against Estonia (May 2007) and Georgia (August 2008) may be an indication of the government’s active interest in mobilizing and shaping activities in Russian cyberspace.[104[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_censorship_by_country#cite_note-103|]]]In 2004 Russia pressured Lithuania and in 2006 Sweden into shutting down the Kavkaz Center website, a site that supports creation of a Sharia state in North Caucasus and hosts videos on terrorist attacks on Russian forces in North Caucasus.[105[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_censorship_by_country#cite_note-104|]]][106[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_censorship_by_country#cite_note-105|]]][107[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_censorship_by_country#cite_note-106|]]]
